PEARSON TELEVISION
BLOCKBUSTERS

[Address removed]

Congratulations! We are pleased to tell you that you have been shortlisted as a possible contestant for 'Blockbusters'.

WHAT DOES BEING SHORTLISTED MEAN?

Being shortlisted means that we thought that you would make a good contestant and we hope to use you on the series. However, it is not a guarantee that we will be able to use you on a show.

We have shortlisted a number of students from each area of the country we visited and will try to represent the whole of the UK on the series. As we explained, we never know exactly how many contestants will be used on the series as this depends on how well each team does and how many pairs or single contestants are knocked out. We therefore obviously shortlist more contestants than we need, so there will not be room for everyone on the series.

If we are not able to use you on the show this time, we will keep your details on file and may contact you for a future series, or possibly send you information about our other shows.

SHORTLIST QUESTIONNAIRE

We are enclosing a shortlist questionnaire for you to complete. This gives us a bit more information about you. It will be read by Liza Tarbuck so that she can decide what to chat to you about on the programme. Please include any interesting hobbies or details about yourself, especially anything you told us at your interview.

RECORDINGS

We will be recording 38 shows in January, the dates are 17th, 18th, 19th, 22nd, 23rd, 24th & 25th Remember to tell us any dates that you know you are unavailable.

The recordings will take place at Yorkshire Television studios in Leeds. You will be needed for a minimum of one day and a possible maximum of three days depending on how the shows run ie. If pairs or singles ahead of you or you are winning.

We will, of course, pay travel expenses for hotel close to the studios. The Contestant Researchers will also be staying so there will always be someone on hand to ensure that you are well looked after (supervised!).

Wherever possible, we will try and include more than one student from each school/college in each recording block, to ensure that you do not have to travel to the studio alone.

WHEN WILL YOU TELL ME I'M ON THE SHOW?

Successful contestants will be contacted by telephone during December so don't give up hope if you don't hear straight away! When we call, we will give you a recording date, confirm everything in writing and send you a detailed Information Pack.

We will also be writing to your school/college to let them know that you have been shortlisted for the show.

WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO NOW?

Please complete the enclosed shortlist questionnaire and return it by Friday 8th December to:
