The Blockbusters Contestant Diary

Welcome!
Here you can find the diary of a winning contestant on the latest, Sky One version of "Blockbusters", hosted by Liza Tarbuck.

Check my diary - from setting off to starting filming

What happened after that? Well, I was on three shows, so I didn't get much time to write - apparently I was very quick on the buzzer and blasted my way through... my hands were numb for the first two sets.

I missed my first and second gold runs (nasty pop questions) but got the other three; and the computer crashed on my third and fifth gold run, because someone had typed the wrong letters in. It wasn't so bad on the third and it could be reshot, but on the fifth... I was so wound up I almost broke down there and then. As it was, I made a sharp exit, escorted by Kathy, one of the researchers, and the Gold Run was put off until the evening session. It's probably just as well.

As it was - I got a trip to India! Woo hoo!

E-mails I've received:
(if anyone doesn't want their name or message posting here, feel free to mail me.)

An e-mail from Paul Crowley of the Clue Factory discussing the optimal strategy for Blockbusters. Here's my reply.

Also one from Matthew Hardy commenting on the site and recalling his memories of Blockbusters:

"Back in the Bob Holness days I used to be an extreme BB nerd. It started when I realised that I could get all the answers before any of the contestants. Just gabbing the answers at the screen wasn't good enough though so I used the mute button on my remote as buzzer practice. If I pressed the button before I heard them go ping then I'd know I'd beaten them to the buzzer."

I'm going to use that...
